Wow - can't believe God has helped me to manage to log a whole year, a whopping 365 days on this blog of thankfulness. Yay! Some days it was really hard to be thankful for anything and i've seen what an unthankful spirit i have. In the new testament letters we are so often encouraged to be thankful as this seems to be a secret of godliness and enjoyment of God and of perseverence as a Christian. i am glad i know this secret. I will miss doing this blog but pray i will remain a thankful girlie!

Final things to be thankful for - God you have totally been with me through this year, totally helped me and worked in me and with me, even when i am stubborn. You have shown me again your deep love for me, your faithfulness to me and your forgiveness on offer for me in Jesus Christ, for me deep selfish sin and disobedience of you. Thank you; and goodnight.

The day of the wedding! Excitement and fun! Seeing Yuri and other Hull lovelies. Abi singing my fave song ever in the register bit - the psalm song! Her doing so so well despite nerves. Macey looking beautiful, family tensions not spoiling her special day, Susie looking after us well.
The hotel doing a great job for the reception, being on the top table with Macey and Lukey! Stuffing amazing bbq food and chips into us followed by sticky toffee pudding - thats a wedding reception meal! Dancing the night away to disco music!

Arriving in York, the hotel being nice and near the town centre, i love York so much - it's just full of history and beauty! Exploring again after 2 years or so. Finding bargains in the surf shops and Christian book shop. Macey not being too busy the day before her wedding to come and hang out with us for coffee! 2 Random things that made me laugh today...

Get on the tube, sit down, not really noticing the man who comes and stands next to my seat, UNTIL he whips out an accodion and starts loudly playing in my ear! He then sends a small boy to poke a paper cup in all the passengers faces to collect money. Not sure he wouldv'e got alot going by the sounds coming out of the accordion!

At Wagamamas with Christina, 2 middle aged business men come and sit next to us, one has a soup based dish and halfway through dips his head to take a slurp and his glasses fall off and into the bowl of soupy noodles! Hard not to laugh as he is right next to us!

The most brilliantest, blissfully happy, wonderful day witnessing our Gara and Kath get wed, being with people we love and adore so much we could burst, Nathans excellent sermon, My gorge girlies, an uplifting and emotional service, good weather, fun photos, holding Matthew Butterys hand for a looooooonnng time, him smiling and goo gooing at me, going to the Ramada and enjoying good food and a great fun table, Gara's brothers speech, gara's short testimony and honesty about God and how he's been transformed by Him in His speech, laughing til we cried at the camp Mr Fawlty man... 'apprereation' and his hammer of doom, sneaking up to their room to cause some mischief, the best band we're ever heard live and dancing all night with all our friends, evidences of Gods grace all over the room, love celebrated, God adored, taste of heaven!

Tim Keller identifying and saying out loud some of the internal feelings and frustrations i have had about the evangelical scene here and how everyone in the 'right' circle fits a certain class model, regarding the 'right' educational background, the 'right' upbringing and even the 'right' personality and style of preaching, who you know etc that though i can infiltrate to some extent some of the time, i feel alienated and unwelcome and uncomfortable in much of the time. Pleased He encouraged the major Evangelical leaders in the UK to see that and discuss it.

Chuckling when remembering the kids talk at church yesterday morning, Elise managing to pull out to the front a man who rarely comes and tries to be anonymous, in a suit in his fifties? Anyway, firstly she's asking for anyone who knows anyone in Africa or who is from Africa - gets him up the front and then proceeds, in front of a packed full church to manage to call him a eunuch, make him read out loud from a scroll, straddling a bicycle, then giving him a crown and a handbag to wear and calling him a queen and finally getting another man to straddle the bike in front of Him! His face of utter confusion and bemusement... what a funny kids talk!

Brilliant lunch with Bimba and chilling out and watching the last O.C! Sob sob, sunday afternoons will never be the same!

A sermon that challenged me to delight more in the giver than the gifts... the searching question of would i want to go to heaven if God wasn't there? Asking myself what and who i am really about. Being thankful that i am doing this thankfulness year of blogdom, to make sure i don't take for granted the kindnesses of God and His grace each day!
